Dear mom,
                    It has been a tough war. Victory has not been as easy as we thought it would be. The south has shown us that they indeed do pose a threat to the Union. We have been loosing battle after battle switching general quite frequently. We have general Grant in charge now and he seems very qualified to run this war against the south. At the battle of Gettysburg we forced our way to victory. The south put up a good fight i will admit but no match for our army. The battle was going left and right but we finally managed to win. With all certainty we will win this was
