The war has come to an end now. General Lee surrendered at Appomattox Court House.  The coward Lee finally surrendered, he finally came to his senses. Losing the war was not an option for  the Union. Surrendering would mean slavery would be remaining and this would be horrible. Thanks to General Grant we managed to get the south to surrender on their land of Virginia.
